Boater Safety Course

Texas law requires all boat operators born on or after September 1, 1993, who will be operating a PWC or a motorized boat over 15 hp, to pass a boater safety course and to carry a boater education card.

The online course is free.

You can take the course here: https://www.boatus.org/texas/

*Texas state fee: The Texas state certification requires a fee which is collected in advance. The course is free, but the $11 fee for state certification is remitted to the state of Texas upon completion.

The course takes approximately 2-4 hours to complete.

You are free to choose any Texas Parks & Wildlife approved course online than the one listed above.

Boater safety courses from another state are not valid in Texas and are non transferable unless you have taken a “NASBLA” approved course.

You do not need to go to a testing facility to complete the course , its a 100% online course.

NOTICE: We do not administer the test and only offer a third party link for the boater safety course for your convenience.

Any additional questions regarding your boater safety course would need to be addressed directly to the company you choose
